A typical day of argentina dove hunting at our San Luis lodge blends the rhythm of the field with the comfort of a first-class lodge, from morning to night. Here is how a day with us unfolds.
Waking Up and Breakfast
It all starts at 7 am —a very decent time— as the sun rises over San Luis. After a full night’s rest in a very comfortable bed, breakfast is waiting for you:
- Freshly made croissants, pancakes, and scrambled eggs
- Toast with natural marmalades
- Coffee, yogurt, and much more
The Drive to the Hunting Fields
With plenty of energy, at 8:15 we drive between 30 and 50 minutes to the hunting fields, where your birdboy is waiting with the blind already set up: your chair and a cooler with cold drinks.
You can be confident you are shooting the best flyways. We have access to 200,000 acres with pivot irrigated grain fields, immense populations of doves and pigeons, and very little hunting pressure.
Where and How the Birds Fly
The doves fly from the roost toward the grain field. The pivot irrigated grain fields are circular and surrounded by roosts, and you are positioned strategically between the roost and the field, right where hundreds of thousands of doves drop their flight altitude to feed.

Midday at the Camp
After an intense morning, we head to our comfortable camp, set up on the same field where we are hunting. Fresh empanadas are waiting for us there, along with a glass of wine or beer and a spectacular Argentine asado we enjoy among friends while we share our hunting stories.
Then comes a siesta on outdoor cots and, once our energy is back, an exciting afternoon hunting session awaits.
Back to the Lodge
Back at the lodge as the sun sets, a refreshing hot shower, then cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by the fireplace. At 7:30 pm we sit down at the table to share the epic dishes of South Pioneers Lodge: a trip within your trip.
